Take One Minute
August 19, 2026 | Vol. 4
Iāve decided to embrace my āmiddle-of-the-night wake-upā messages.
I had a newsletter scheduled to go out at 7:00 this morning, and I woke up in the night with the thought, āUnpublish it. Thatās not the message you want to send.ā Was it a bad message? No, of course not. However, I realized it felt rushed, and I didnāt want to send something simply because I had intended for the Weekly to go out every Wednesday morning.
I want the Pure Possibilities Weekly to offer you something meaningful. Sometimes that may be a story or reflection. Today, I want to share a short practice that has been very helpful for me over the last few weeks when Iām feeling anxious or disconnected.
Iāve been using this simple 3-4-5 breath as a way to quiet some of the noisy chatter in my head and create more connection between what Iām thinking and what Iām feeling. This helps to bring your head and heart into coherence. It doesnāt matter whether you exhale with your mouth open or closed. I know sometimes we want to make sure weāre āgetting it right,ā but there is no right way. Only what feels best for you in the moment.
Before you continue reading, take one minute with me.
If it feels comfortable, place your feet on the floor and allow yourself to be in the present moment. Place your hand on your heart. Close your eyes if it feels comfortable and safe to do so. I close mine to shut out some of the outside distractions.
Breathe in slowly for a count of three.
Hold for a count of four.
Exhale slowly for a count of five.
Repeat that a few times.
If holding your breath doesnāt feel comfortable, you can skip the hold and simply allow your exhale to be a little longer than your inhale.
I generally do this for about a minute, and it has been very grounding for me. It helps me get out of my head and refocus on what Iām working on.
There is nothing you need to force, fix, or figure out in this moment. Simply notice your breath. Notice your body. Notice what changes when you give yourself a moment to reconnect before moving on to the next thing.
Sometimes remembering who you are doesnāt require discovering something new. Sometimes it begins by becoming quiet enough to hear yourself again.
What do you notice now that may not have been available to you one minute ago?
This Week on the Podcast
Why Your Relationship With Yourself Is the Foundation of Every Relationship
This week I break down why I so deeply believe that your relationship with yourself is the foundation of ALL of your relationships. When we talk about relationships, our attention usually moves toward the other person.
How are they treating us? Do they understand us? Can we trust them? Are they meeting our needs?
But you are the one person present in every relationship and every experience of your life.
Your relationship with yourself influences what you tolerate, how you communicate, whether you honor your boundaries, how you respond when you make a mistake, and whether you trust what you feel, need, and know.
It shapes how you allow yourself to give and receive love. It affects the choices you make, the patterns you repeat, and what happens when another person is disappointed in you.
That doesnāt mean you are responsible for someone elseās behavior or that loving yourself guarantees every relationship will be healthy. It means the way you relate to yourself affects how you participate in every relationship you have.
In this weekās episode, I invite you to consider what your relationship with yourself actually looks and feels like, and how it may be influencing every other relationship in your life.
Because before we can create healthier relationships with anyone else, we need to become curious about the relationship weāre already living with every single day.

What If Weekly...
What if my challenges are actually opportunities in disguise?
We all have moments when life isnāt going exactly the way we want it to. Has that ever happened to you? š
Our lives are a journey. There are ups, downs, unexpected twists, turns, disappointments, celebrations, endings, and beginnings.
We may not appreciate the challenging times as much as the moments when everything seems to be flowing smoothly, but they can become an important part of our growth when we eventually allow ourselves to view them differently.
That shift in perspective may not happen immediately. Sometimes we need time to feel what we feel, process what happened, and gain enough distance to see the experience through a different lens.
You donāt have to know what the opportunity is yet.
For now, what if you simply leave room for the possibility that there may be more unfolding than you can currently see?
Whatās Unfolding...
The doors to the Pure Possibilities Collective are officially open!
The Collective is an ongoing coaching community for those moments when you know what you want to do, but still find yourself second-guessing, avoiding, overthinking, or returning to familiar patterns.
Inside, youāll receive live group coaching, nervous system support, body-based practices, and a community where you can bring what youāre navigating and practice responding differently.
Founding Members who join during this opening will receive ongoing access at the Founding Member rate of $67 per month, along with a private 60-minute coaching session and access to the Nervous System Resilience Toolkit.
Thereās no pressure to join simply because the doors are open. But if youāve been feeling curious, you can learn more and decide whether the Collective feels like the right space for you.
